The Remarkable Musical Journey of Eric Frazier

Eric Fraziers CD release poster 2016┬áCongratulations to Eric Frazier on the upcoming June 12th release of his new CD featuring Eric’s original songs backed by some of New York City’s finest musicians.Eric is truly the definition in my book of a “Renaissance Man” being so multi-faceted.A retired principal having been chief school administrator in elementary and middle schools in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy and Crown heights communities. He later served as assistant principal for Brooklyn’s fabled “Boys and Girls High”.
Eric’s been a standout long distance runner starring in track and field as an undergraduate at Southern Illinois University; a scholar whom as published both serious academic articles, reviews for education journals as well as written for popular jazz publications. The list of Eric’s achievements, notable as they are hardly bespeak his indefatigable good will and support for others quietly and publicly as a staunch advocate of cultural and performing arts. Since retiring from his role serving 30yrs. as a New York City school administrator, Eric has virtually re-invented himself. He’s a sought after percussionist specializing in congas, a composer, record producer,Jazz Festival founder, tap dancer, singer, and academic just a thesis away from receiving a Columbia University doctorate in educational administration. He ads to his impressive curriculum vitae, entrepreneur and jazz impresario.A few years back, Eric’s life hung in peril from the dreaded “C” word.In an excellent auto-biographical video produced by his daughter, Eric describes his physical challenge and dogged determination to over-come and survive cancer, through faith, diet research and exercise or as he prefers, to call it “physical culture”. And as in all of Eric’s pursuits he fought back with a passion for life that inevitably reflects the same Joie de vivre he brings to every experience. This album is one in a series of Eric Frazier’s growing discography. And knowing Eric,it’s bound to be his best music ever. He’s joined by crew of the finest jazzmen in town on this recording date. Congratulations Eric Frazier! Keep swing’n my man! D.Day 2016
